This film made cinema houses full categorized as a "Horror Movie". But I am not able to satisfy myself on such a view. I'm submitting my view for your gratification.
1. Self-Centered people...
The director has realistically explained how people change selfish, when it comes to a problem in which they get involved. Hindu mythology has references to ‘Kaliyuga’, the time when the evil would be seen more prominent. The inhabitants of the neighborhood apartments namely the middle-aged woman, the old man and the watchman who does not have the slightest feeling of guilt for spoiling a family, the teenage girl, the friend everybody prove to be the characters which anyone of us could meet in our real lives. May be our problems are different, but the part that others play are very much comparable to the ones in the movie.
2. Suspicion over the spouse…
The director speaks about the husbands’ suspicion over the wives. A girl could have got a crush at an immature age or she could have even sacrificed her “well-mature” love for many other even more important reasons. Just because she loved someone in the past she could not become an evil woman. Good lovers are rare in Indian females because they become bad ones to make good mothers, good wives, good daughters, good sisters and so on. “Realize that a bad lover is living with you as a good wife just by the intimacy and relationship between you and her. This is not something to be known from others’ opinion”. This is the point the director wants to strongly establish.
3. Ramya…
The heroine, who is a straight forward, lovable girl very much attached to her father and sister. She is so good that she can’t bear a word spoken against her character. This turns out to be the reason she quits the relationship with her lover, as he gives a wrong comment about her character in a drive of anger. On the whole, she is a soft girl with a very strong positive character. That is why I got attracted to this character. We see many good girls around us but what makes me think is… Are they all so positive and also determined like Ramya? The way she proved that she is not a bad one, though it was cinematic… added respect to the film as it goes well with her character.
4. The Hero…
Vasudevan, in short Vasu is the pillar of this story, the main character of the movie. A youngster, who is aspiring to become a big police officer. He loves the calm, beautiful, Ramya. To be more accurate, he not only loves Ramya but admires her for her character.
Though she gets away from him due to anger, he still respects the straightforwardness of her anger. Even after he sees her dead, he does not disclose his past affair with her or even shows a hint that he knows her identity, knowing that it may create a bad name for her. Later, he takes the case for investigation because he feels that it is like being disloyal for his own love and respect for her, if he doesn’t make sure that her death is not a murder. This shows the depth of his feelings for her.
Without any basis or proofs (the ones available are against her), Vasu continues his investigation in Ramya’s case, only based on his faith on Ramya, which increases the viewers’ respect for Vasu. Sensing that murders are caused by water and guessing that those who die might have caused Ramya’s death, projects the intelligence of Vasu. Though Ramya’s father hates Vasu, he helps in the old man’s medical treatment and also saves Ramya’s sister from the bad man, which projects Vasu as a humanitarian. On the whole, Vasu is not a cinematic hero with usual gimmicks; he is a real hero in this story.
5. Screenplay…
Though it is a horror movie, the way the story is being handled is new. We are able to see a ghost without the actual horror and usual graphic tricks. Graphics is being shown in a very realistic way! The way the screenplay is done, certainly requires applause.
In the present day on seeing Ramya’s dead body, Vasu acts as if he doesn’t know her. In the flash back that follows, Vasu acts as if he knows Ramya, to save her from an embarrassment, when the reality is not so. From this incident their friendship develops. Similarly as Vasu investigates the present day incidents and in relation to that, the past incidents being described interests the viewer.
When Vasu happens to see the red colour and water, a murder is committed next by the ghost. At the end, it being a rainy day, Vasu happens to see a red umbrella and water dripping down from it, hinting the viewer about the next death victim(without showing the murder committed), with which the movie ends. Really a superb screenplay!
After a long time, I got a feeling of watching a good movie!
What is the basic qualification for ruling a portion of land… rather to become the chief minister or prime minister of a land (in olden days to become a king)? In short, what are the qualities a politician who is considered to be a potential leader should posses?
Basically, he must possess the total knowledge about the land he likes to rule or take care of or at least, he must be possess the ability to have with him the people who have such knowledge in order to give a perfect rule.
As we are Indians we shall take the example of our own country.
General Knowledge:
As the state is located in India, he must know the Indian law and the history of the country. He must know the count of total number of states, their culture, mineral resources, agricultural products, their dependency on imports from other countries. Apart from this, he must also know the historical importance of the place if any, tourist places, transport facility, fields in which there is hope for development, details regarding educational institutions and all such information at least in his state.
Political Knowledge:
The potential leader must know about the various important political parties, the parties which really consider the people’s welfare, those which brought about the various successfully formulated plans for the people, the leaders of those parties, people’s support, and the relationship of the various state governments with the center. Apart from all these he must also be aware of the illegal and antisocial forces which lead to the destruction of the country.
That which was listed so far is only the knowledge to be possessed by the leader. But plan that should be brought in to action is more important than that. What should a good political leader do... or what are the qualities he must posses?
Leadership quality… that is he must be a proper leader for his group of people. Putting aside his personal opinions, likes and dislikes he must act in a way beneficial for his own crowd. He must try to remove their ignorance and point out and make them realize their strengths and weaknesses. (E.g.: Positive: Unity, Negative: Indulging in antisocial activities without realizing they are made to involve in such activities by the political or foreign beneficiaries).
The leader should not aim at defeating the opponent by mere words or oratorical skills, but to enforce his ideas, justice, advertising his own good qualities that could help in the upliftment of the people and thus with these he must get approved by not only his people, but also leaders of other states and get recognition from the central government and other countries.
Things to do:
The leader himself cannot do all the jobs and handle all the departments. A good leader must appoint effective, responsible persons suitable for each department (For example, the education department should be taken care of by a person who got his doctorate from a respectable university and has had more exposure in the field of education). The leader must give his suggestions wherever necessary and allow the respective department heads to act independently, exhibiting their full capacity.
In an ideal government, in every department, in every level, at least once a month there must be surprise checks conducted by the respective ministers or members of the legislative assembly of that constituency. These checks must be done in offices and also by meeting public personally. Apart from education, sports must also be given the required encouragement and recognition.
The consciousness about medical and health care must be brought not only among children but also among the public. ‘Protection is only for the ruling and rich’, this thought should change and the police department must function in a more effective way to help the people.
How the price of gold, fuel, vegetables and fruits are determined must be explained to the public through media. Functioning of media must be regularized. The reliability of the information being spread through the media must be considered and checked well before it is presented to the public.
The person who rules a land must posses all the above mentioned qualities and talents to handle the things discussed above. These are not the only things… apart from this, his rule must consider his people and their regular life while enforcing laws. Only such a person can be considered a good leader or politician.
Those who agree with me please proceed further….
Not possessing even very few qualities mentioned above, at least one person comes up with a new party every year crying out “I’m your leader”. If someone becomes famous in some field by a particular talent, that is not enough to become a leader. People like them, in their own field for their personal talent, just for entertainment or few minutes’ pleasure… not as a leader. These “mushroom-like” leaders must understand this... or at least we, the public should understand this!
A person who is clear about his vision and mission, and who also has the guidance of the wise can only be a good leader and develop his land. Those politicians of the past, who have a permanent seat in people’s mind, are proofs for this!
Let us identify the right people at least from now on...

This is a follow up of the post on TESTS. So kindly go through that post before moving further.
We had mentioned about coaching classes where a person is trained to face a test or exam which he would not be able to succeed unless he is being trained. This indicates he is not the right person for that because the right person would not require training or coaching for passing in an exam.
Coaching can be given for someone who has the potential but needs some training to gain excellence. It must not be forced especially on children, just because their parents want them to do it. May it be music or dance or a career decision, the child’s potentials must be identified and they must be trained for excellence in those subjects or arts or talents. In such cases, the children will certainly come out with flying colours because they are not doing what is being forced on them, but what they enjoy doing. I have seen many real life examples where children go for various classes without knowing why there are going there!
Consider the facts… Individuals form a family. Families form our society. So we are going to decide who is going to treat us as a doctor, who is going to build our buildings, dams and bridges, who is going to design our vehicles, who is going to produce our food, who is going to market products and so on…
Let someone who has the heart to care for others and the intelligence to learn about human body and medicines become a doctor.
Let someone who has passion for buildings and architecture become a civil engineer.
Let someone who has logical thinking and quick problem solving skills become a programmer.
Let someone who enjoys farming and plants become an agriculturist or take up farming as profession.
Let someone who loves machines become a mechanical engineer and so on…
Our society would have the best professionals, if we don’t force Lallu Prasad to become an astronomer and Neil Armstrong to become a politician. Hope you understand my point.
In software programming, a good programmer would give a robust program which would pass all test cases (destructive testing). Another programmer would also at one point reach this code, but after failing in many test cases. This involves wastage of time, hence money. This is applicable to all professions, may it be a mechanic or architect or a doctor.
Of course, an intelligent person who has passion for ‘Profession A’ can be trained to work in ‘Profession B’ and build a career in it. But it would certainly be hard for him, like actor Vijay becoming Leonardo Da Vinci, or Tendulkar becoming a professional singer.
So let us allow our sons and daughters to be successful in what they are. Let us sharpen their existing skills but not force an unknown skill on them.

What is a test? It is a process in which a person's capacity is being tested. It may be school tests, entrance tests for higher education, job interviews, and college exams, tests for a higher position in job or the tests in our real life. All these tests judge a person's capability to sustain the future ordeals or the position he wishesto attain. Hope whoever reads this would agree with me.
The purpose of this post is to realize the reality. What is happening in schools, the place where we begin to face tests? Students are given the syllabus for a year. The children of that age group must be aware of the facts or lessons given for them as syllabus by the end of that year. So that they gain knowledge and become ready to face the next set of lessons which would require the knowledge of the lessons in their previous year. For example, if the student learns addition in his Class I, and is familiar with the concept of addition he becomes ready for learning the concept of multiplication in class II; similarly if he learns subtraction, he becomes ready to learn division.
But in most of the schools or classes or homes may it be the teachers or the parents, want the students to learn something just to get a high score in the examination being conducted at the end of a time period.
Also in most cases, in addition to this, when a child is capable of scoring about 90%, the intention worsens. That is the parent forces the student to get the first rank in the class. But the level of learning and the intelligent quotient will definitely vary between every student. This leads to unnecessary feeling of competition and hatred among the children at a very early age. We started at making the child score high marks but ended up with an entirely different thing ! Does this ' First Rank' matter at all? What should matter is "Has the student understood and became familiar with what he is supposed to learn?” Am I correct?
This happens not only in school, but also everywhere where exams are being conducted. When we consider an entrance test for a higher education or the exams conducted for government jobs, there enters the concept of "coaching classes". A candidate who was trained by the coaching class has a higher possibility of getting selected than the right deserving candidate, who was not trained to face the test. (Reasons may be financial, geographical, social… anything!)
"Test" is being conducted to test "what you know". But now "Test" has become something "for which we have to know", which is not the intention of the test at all! "Hey this is an important question... this will certainly be asked in the exam". Have we not heard this statement everywhere? This is what I mean!
So dear all, especially parents understand "tests".
Let your child understand and learn concepts, facts and lessons. Don't force them to mug up and get marks. Some people may argue that unless a concept is understood by a student, he will not be able to score marks. This will be true only in certain subjects like mathematics and not for others like language subjects, history or geography or any other theoretical subject (ah... who bothers about that! Is this your comment? Watch NGC, Discovery, Animal Planet Etc. Your child may be someone born to excel in such fields ...).
I am detailing on this based on my personal experience and by seeing people around me. So this concept is not just a blabber.
Many might already be aware of this, about which I feel very happy. This post is based on the discussion with few of those people. But those who didn't have the opportunity to think on these lines please think now. Let your kid aim at 100% score, but let that not be for competition among his peers. It must be for 100% learning. In this case automatically you can find which subject is best suited for your child's higher studies, so that he can specialize on that and come out successfully in his life and career.
